Cookie cutter settings explained
| Cookie size | The longest side of the cookie itself. The blade and flange are added around it. |

| Cutter height | 12–15 mm suits rolled sugar and gingerbread dough; go taller for thick dough or fondant. |
| Blade thickness | 1 mm cuts cleanly and is sturdy; 0.8 mm is sharper but more flexible. |
| Flange | The wider rim at the top of the cutter. It stiffens the blade and gives your fingers a place to press. |
Cookie cutter FAQ
How do I make a cookie cutter from an image?
Upload a drawing, a silhouette or a logo, adjust the threshold until only your shape is highlighted, set the cookie size and click Generate STL. The cutter follows the outer outline of your shape; inner lines are ignored.
Can I make a name cookie cutter?
Yes — choose “Text / a name”, type the word and pick a bold font. Letters that touch or sit close together are joined by the flange into one cutter.
What images work best?
Simple, chunky shapes: animals, hearts, stars, logos and silhouettes. Thin parts narrower than about 3 mm won't release dough cleanly — the tool warns you.
Which settings should I print with?
Print with the flange on the bed, 0.2 mm layers and at least two walls, so the blade comes out as solid plastic. PLA or PETG both work.
Are 3D printed cookie cutters food safe?
They're fine for brief contact with dough if you keep them clean: wash by hand in warm (not hot) soapy water and dry right away. Printed plastic has tiny layer lines, so don't put cutters in the dishwasher, and for extra care wrap dough in plastic film before cutting.
