Usher, greeter or ministry badge?

Ushers seat guests, take the offering and help during communion, so their badge usually carries the role in capitals — “USHER” or “HEAD USHER” — and is worn on a suit jacket. A gold 3″ × 1.5″ badge with the church logo beside the name is the most common choice.

Greeters are the first people visitors meet. Many churches print first names only on greeter badges so they feel welcoming, and pick a brighter finish like Gold Glitter so they're easy to find at the door.

Ministry teams — worship, hospitality, children's ministry, prayer, outreach — often share one style with the team name on line two, so members can be told apart at a glance.

Magnet or pin for Sunday clothes

Magnets suit suit jackets, shirts and blouses because they don't leave holes in good clothes. On thin dresses and silky fabrics a magnet badge can pull the fabric down, so a pin back sits better there. If you order for a mixed team, you can choose a different backing for each person.

Ordering for your church

Add each volunteer's badge to the cart with their name and role. If you'd like your church logo instead of the cross, upload it in the badge maker — or email it to info@avdeb.com with your order number — and we'll print it on every badge. For a long list of names, email the list and we'll help you put the order together.

Magnet or pin back?

Magnet back

  • No holes in shirts, scrubs or blazers
  • Quick to move between outfits
  • Best on light and medium-weight fabric

Pin back

  • Holds firmly on thick knits, fleece and aprons
  • Slightly lower price
  • No magnet — suitable near implanted medical devices

Ordering for a team

Add one badge per person: type their name and title, click “Add to cart”, then type the next name. In the badge maker your logo and design stay set between names, so every badge matches. Each person becomes a separate line in your cart, so nothing gets mixed up. For long lists, email the names and titles toinfo@avdeb.com and we'll help you put the order together.

Frequently asked questions

Can you put our church name on usher badges?

Yes. Put it on line two in place of the role — up to 35 characters fit, so shorten long names (e.g. “New Hope Church” instead of “New Hope Community Church of Springfield”). Or upload your church logo, which usually already contains the name, and keep line two for “USHER”.

Can I use our church logo instead of the cross?

Yes. Upload it in our badge maker when you order and you'll see it on the preview. You can also email it to info@avdeb.com with your order number. We'll print it on every badge in that order.

What should an usher badge say?

Most churches use the usher's name on line one and “USHER” (or “HEAD USHER”) on line two, with the cross or the church logo on the left. Some add the ministry instead, such as “Usher Ministry”.

Magnetic or pin badges for church volunteers?

Magnets for suit jackets, shirts and blouses — no holes in Sunday clothes. Pins for thin dresses, silky fabrics and thick sweaters, where a magnet can sag or slide.

Can we order badges for every ministry team at once?

Yes. Add one badge per person with their own name and role. Each is a separate line in the cart, so one order can cover ushers, greeters and ministry teams together.

Can greeter badges show first names only?

Yes. We print exactly what you type, so just enter the first name. Many churches do this so greeters feel approachable.
